Twig Lights For Christmas

Twig lights can add a beautiful and subtle look to your Christmas décor whether you just have them on their own or as well as a Christmas tree.

I personally love all the bright lights, glitter and glitz of Xmas, especially now that I have children of my own, my 3 year old is just starting to understand when Christmas is and I am so excited to see him and my 2 year old daughters faces when they see the decorations on the 14th of December (I am traditional and like to put the decorations up 12 days before Christmas, I will put them up on the 13th after the kids are in bed so it is a nice wee treat for them when they get up the next day)

My mother on the other hand has never been a fan of the "tacky" multi coloured lights and tinsel, although we did have it when growing up, she has always preferred plain and simple cream coloured fairy lights and a couple of tasteful gold and silver baubles. In the past few years she has not even had a tree though and has stuck to twig lights and also decorating her large plants with plain fairy lights, as I said I love colour and glitter but this is a lovely look that doesn't take away from the overall décor and theme of your home.

You can buy them ready made or just get some fairy lights and put them on some twig arrangements or plants that you already have in the home or garden, this is far more cost effective and even if you have to buy the twigs or artificial plants/mini trees, you can keep these up all year round, just take the lights off them, although you can keep them on of course if you want!

BLACK TWIG BALL ARRANGEMENT

BLACK TWIG BALL ARRANGEMENT This is one of the more expensive twig light arrangements but it is really beautiful and so different looking from the standard branches with a couple of little lights on them. This has small cube shaped lights which are unusual in themselves and the twigs are arranged into 3 separate parts that looks to me like 3 trees one above/below the other, they remind me of cherry trees.
This looks great on an inside wall as shown on the picture, and also looks fantastic outside at the front door or in a porch (make sure you keep the transformer part inside as that is not safe for outdoors)
This my favourite out of all of the ones I have on this blog but unfortunately it is a little expensive for me at the moment and I have a small house with not much wall space for it.
If you have the space though this can look great as a Christmas decoration or just keep it up all year round for a lovely feature on your wall or an arty talking point at you door to welcome guests.

BROWN TWIG GARLAND WITH GREEN L.E.D. LEAVES

BROWN TWIG GARLAND WITH GREEN L.E.D. LEAVES This is another very different looking twig arrangement with the leaves being the main focus.
This is very wintry looking and would look amazing above a fireplace with some Christmas candles and then a few decorative stockings hanging from the fireplace, can you imagine how good that would look?
It is a very versatile design too, it will go with an old fashioned home or an up to date modern one and will match almost any colour scheme although I am not too sure how this would look up against patterned wallpaper so if you are one of those trendy folk with large floral or Paisley printed paper on one of or all of your walls then they may want to really think about if this will clash as the green leaves are probably best on a single coloured wall.

Silver Twigs with Warm White Fairy Lights

Silver Twigs with Warm White Fairy Lights These silver twig lights are said to be great as ornaments all year round but I think they are more suited to just Christmas time as they are really quite festive looking.
The price of these is fantastic though so you won't mind putting them away after the holidays are over as you will definitely get your moneys worth.
I really like this and it is something that I would have, I currently have a large black tree (my living room is mainly white with 1 black feature wall that the TV is mounted on) so the silver would work really well. plus the fact that I love the more shiny, silver colours at Christmas time!
The rest of the twig lights would have looked great in my living room when we had cream and tan paints and brown leather couches, but with a black and white theme, these would work best. I guess all of these twigs with lights would go with any colour and décor but if you want to really impress your Christmas guests, then it is good to go with a theme throughout the room. It really brings everything together and makes your room.home look classy and sophisticated instead of a mishmash of colours.

Hazel Twig Tree With Lights

Hazel Twig Tree With Lights The Hazel Twig with lights is another take on the plain twigs but still very similar and not too unusual looking.
The hazel is very versatile as it can be intertwined round plants or ornaments. Again, with most of these branch themed lights, this is really good for a year round decoration.
I personally see anything with little lights on it and think "Christmas" but this is one of the few exceptions as it has such a rustic sort of look to it, I think this one would look amazing in a porch or conservatory, perhaps even a summer house if you one with heating in it!
This has very subtle glow and would look great with lots of golds and even suit being in the same room as an artificial brown Christmas tree, I know a brown tree sounds horrible but you can get really beautiful brown trees that are fabulous if you have cream décor and brown furniture.

Interwoven Lights Natural Twigs

Interwoven Lights Natural Twigs Here are the twig lights that I imagine you were looking for when you came upon this page, this is the original natural twig with some very tiny lights attached that is so simplistic looking yet very effective particularly in a low lit room.
These look great in a clear glass vase filled with some brown and tan pebbles or clear glass stones.
I remember a neighbour of mine had a these under his spiral staircase, it looked lovely as the space under the staircase was too small for anything else and was quite dark looking, the little lights gave off a subtle glow and made such a difference to a dark, unwanted looking area of his house.
This also works in rooms, by putting one of these in the corner you can brighten up a room without having a full light lamp. I have a peculiarly shaped room and a corner of it will look great with a plain twig light in it although for now that space is occupied with my children's toy box!

Ambience Twigs With Flower Lights

Ambience Twigs With Flower Lights The ambiance twig is a little more like the traditional style of twig lights but with some very delicate and pretty looking flowers on them too. I have seen items like this for sale in the shops, you know those types of places that seem to sell absolutely EVERYTHING!!!
The ones that I have seen though were very cheap looking with fake hard plastic fairy light flowers on the end of them, ok for children perhaps but if you are going for a more sophisticated look then the ambiance flowers are just stunning and will look fabulous through the year if want to keep them as a permanent feature.
The petals are made from a fine, translucent material and although you will never mistake these for real petals, they do capture the intricacy and beauty of a real flower.
